Christian Education Support Fund

PURPOSE:

In agreement with the mission of Hilltown Baptist Church (HBC), the Christian Education Support Fund (CESF) serves to promote Christian education, instill in our youth a Christian worldview, and develop future Christian leaders in the community. The goal of this fund is to provide financial assistance to families who are committed to Christian education, whether an approved Christian school, homeschooling, online program, or a hybrid.

ELIGIBILITY:

In order to promote Christian education, any member of HBC in good-standing, having dependents in grades K-12, may apply. Applicants must have a dependent enrolled in or seeking enrollment in a Christian education program that aligns with HBC’s Statement of Faith. Applicants can either select from a list of HBC-approved schools/programs or can submit an intended school/program to the Fund Committee for approval.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Funds from the CESF are awarded without regard to sex, race, nationality, or national origin on an annual basis with distribution amount(s) dependent upon applicant numbers and monies available through the CESF.

If this is your first time completing an application, all materials must be submitted to HBC no later than August 1, 2025 for the upcoming academic year. Click the button below to fill out the application. You will receive an email acknowledgement of receipt of your application.

Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for your interest in applying for the Christian Education Support Fund of Hilltown Baptist

Church. It is our desire to somewhat lessen the financial burden for our member families choosing

Christ-centered education for their children.

Please understand that the support funds available are not substantial enough to be a “make or

break” decision for your family, but we aim to help all eligible students of HBC members to the extent

of our funds each year.

  • Who is eligible to apply?

HBC members in good standing with students entering grades K-12 in a qualifying local Christian school, homeschool program, Christian online school, or hybrid program that aligns with HBC’s Statement of Faith.

  • What costs are eligible for potential support?

    Tuition and/or curriculum.

  • What costs are not eligible for potential support?

Extra-curricular activities, classroom fees, before or after school programs, etc.

  • How much financial aid is potentially available?

That is dependent upon the number of eligible students each year and the funds available. Again, it will not be significant enough to be a deciding factor for any family, but is our way of providing some help to as many as possible.

  • Which Christian schools and homeschool programs are currently approved?

    Plumstead Christian School

    Calvary Baptist School

    Good Beginnings (kindergarten only)

    Grace Christian School

    Independent Homeschooler

    Indian Valley (kindergarten only)

    Upper Bucks Christian School

    Liberty University Online Academy

    Faith Christian Academy

    Classical Conversations (homeschool co-op)

    Schola Inventionis (homeschool co-op)

If you are applying to a school or program not listed here, please email cesf@hilltown.church with the details and we will review the program for HBC approval.

  • How do I apply?

Click on application button above, fill it out completely, submit it, and you will receive an acknowledgment of receipt. An important part of your application consists of knowing the financial aid you will receive from the school or other resources, so please let us know as soon as you have that information.

  • How do homeschoolers apply?

The same way, but you will be providing the costs of curriculum and books you plan to use, rather than tuition. Our application deadline considers the late spring timing of homeschool conventions.

  • What is the application deadline?

If this is your first time submitting an application, all required information must be in by August 1, 2025. A completed application includes submission of actual tuition costs for each student for the coming school year, documenting any financial assistance received. For homeschool families, a complete application requires your curriculum list for each student, with verified costs. For any questions, please email cesf@hilltown.church.

  • When will we know our financial aid amount?

    July 15, 2025

  • Can we expect the same level of financial help from the CESF each year?

The goal of the CESF is to provide at least 10% of the financial gap between a member’s qualifying costs and any financial aid received.  Financial assistance from the CESF may vary year to year depending on the funds available and the number of applicants.

  • What is the Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and how can it help our family pay for Christian education?

It’s outside the role of the CESF Committee to give tax advice, so please check with the school of your choice or a tax consultant to learn how PA state residents or businesses can participate in this program.
